What are Zerust Vapor Capsules?

Zerust vapor capsules are small devices that emit Vapor Corrosion Inhibitors (VCIs). VCI products protect against rust by releasing an invisible, non-toxic, non-reactive and odorless corrosion-inhibiting vapor that creates an invisible protective layer on metal surfaces. Zerust can protect a range of metal items, including those created from aluminum, brass, copper, iron, nickel, steel, and silver. Zerust vapor capsules can be helpful in enclosed spaces where traditional rust prevention methods may be difficult or impractical to implement.
Vapor capsules are rated for the radius in which each capsule is able to protect, and the duration of protection:

• VC1-1 is the least costly capsule, and protects a radius of 1 foot for a year. VC1-1(s) offers the same benefit in a smaller capsule.
• VC2-1 steps up the protection area to a 2 ft. radius, and is effective for 1 year. VC2-2 also offers 2 ft. radius of VCI protection, with extended protection up to 2 years.
• For larger areas, VC4-1, VC6-1 cover 4 and 6 ft. radius, respectively, for 1 year. VC6-2 covers 6 ft. radius for 2 years for the ultimate VCI protection in larger areas, ideal for industrial applications.

Toolboxes and Tool Cabinets:
Keep your tools in pristine condition by placing Zerust vapor capsules in your toolboxes or cabinets. This is especially useful in humid environments such as garages or basements.

Firearm Storage:
Firearms are susceptible to rust. Zerust vapor capsules are a convenient and inexpensive way to protect your firearm from rust and corrosion, especially when combined with our tube and barrel strips, VCI poly bags or Magic VCI bullet.

Ammo:
Most ammo is rust resistant but steel, brass, or aluminum casings can corrode over time if not stored in a dry place. Keep ammo dry, and in a proper ammo box with desiccant packs. Include a VC1-1 vapor capsule for additional protection and your ammo will be usable for decades to come.

Electronics:
Add vapor capsules to electronics or electrical enclosures for convenient rust and corrosion protection that is easy to apply and replace as needed. The adhesive backing makes this easy to apply to smooth surfaces, and there is no residue caused from vapor capsules.

Bait and Tackleboxes:
Protect your fishing hooks, lures and other metal tackle from rust, especially when exposed to moisture or salt water. For best results, keep your tackle in a waterproof box, and allow for any wet items to fully dry before storage.

Household Items:

The TP2-1 capsule is designed to protect silver and yellow metals such as copper, bronze, brass, and tin from the detrimental effects of oxidation and tarnish. Tips for Optimal Use:

• Ensure that the enclosure is somewhat sealed so that the vapor corrosion inhibitors don’t evaporate too quickly.
• Place the capsule in a central location of the enclosure.
• Replace in accordance with the label, every 1 or 2 years.
